Sheila Hooks

Sheila graduated from Loughborough College of Art & Design in 1973 and has lived in Ireland since 1995. For over 20 years she has been involved with adult art education and since moving to Ireland has run an open studio/gallery in West Cork. The summer of 2011 has seen major changes in Sheilas approach to work-the studio/gallery is now closed to the public allowing more time & freedom for painting on location.

Her work is held in corporate collections in Ireland & private collections throughout Europe & USA.
‘It is usually the play of light that initially draws me to a subject and it is for that reason that I often paint the Irish landscape. Capturing that transient moment is always a challenge! I love painting gardens & often work to commission.’
