Lily who is a self-taught artist, was born in Waterford but has lived most of her life in Carlow. She has been painting for many years and during these years Lily has explored different media and techniques. While she paints in oils, watercolour and acrylics, she favors the medium of pastels enjoying the spontaneity of applying colour and the vibrant yet subtle effects that can be achieved. Lily’s work is largely inspired by nature, landscapes and flowers feature a lot among the subjects she chooses to paint but she has painted in a variety of subject matter. Lily exhibits her work in many group exhibitions and has a solo exhibition each year in the fringe of the Carlow Eigse Arts Festival in June.
