Graduating as an illustrator in 2007, Emma has completed hundreds of commissions including portraits, children’s books and illustrations.

Emma has always had a love for drawing living creatures as well as a fascination with chalk pastels so it was only natural the two should collide. Emma works mainly as a portrait artist but her series of wildlife can be found in a few galleries in the North.

Inspired by artists from the surreal to the classic painters she has developed a style which gives a realistic appearance yet a soft texture from the chalk pastels and the velour pastel paper she works on.

“Charlie Crow Sorts It!” is a recent children’s book illustrated by Emma and there are more projects underway.
